Yuqing Lin (she/it/them/ta)
Yuqing is an artist born in Chengdu, Sichuan and work in London. Her working across moving image, installation, curation, painting and texts.
Recently, her projects have been focused on entanglement/trans-species storytelling, ghostly memory/diaspora queer space and tentacles / multi-sensory image.
Yuqing’s work questions how we produce ‘ images of opacity’, and through a multisensory image-making process, she map a cosmology of symbiosis with ghosts, alienators, and more than human matter.
She often uses the methodology of speculative fiction to reimagine power structures within historical narratives. Drawing inspiration from post-apocalyptic sci-fi, mythology, internet fragmentation(or fan fiction?), and the diaspora experience, she seeks to find a sense of belonging and sentient passage amidst worlds entangled with different more than human beings, capturing moments of intimacy, structural trauma, and desire.
Simultaneously, she is the part of the collective project “if splash as your whistle” which is a long- term intimate project explores queer and diaspora journey through moving images and artist films .
